As an Environmental Artist on the Myst remake, I was responsible for creating all the props within Sirrus' Stoneship bedroom. A key focus was ensuring the furniture felt like a cohesive set, reflecting Sirrus' distinct taste. Each piece was designed with real-world references, imagining what he might have personally selected.
Additionally, I optimized the environment for VR, ensuring a seamless and immersive experience. The desk was carefully adjusted so players could intuitively interact with drawers on either side without any clipping issues. The dresser underwent a thoughtful redesign to ensure all interactive objects were comfortably accessible in virtual space.
Beyond prop work, I contributed to various aspects of the scene, including lighting, collision, and adjustments to the bedroom's structure meshes and materials. This hands-on approach allowed me to personally refine nearly every detail in the space, ensuring a polished and immersive experience for players.
All assets were crafted using Substance Painter, employing smart texturing techniques to maximize pixel density across a minimal number of texture sheets. This efficient approach maintained high visual fidelity while optimizing performance.
