I was responsible for creating the furniture and props for Sirrus' Bedroom in Channelwood for the Myst remake. The original game's layout provided a strong foundation, and I focused on modernizing it while preserving its iconic charm. My goal was to ensure all furniture pieces felt handcrafted by the same artisan, contributing to a cohesive and immersive environment.
A key consideration was optimizing the space for VR gameplay. One of my contributions was the design of a custom wine rack, which not only enhanced the room’s authenticity but also strategically relocated important game objects to a more accessible, VR-friendly position. Additionally, I was able to contribute to the lighting, collision, and overall functionality of the space, truly owning the environment and ensuring it met both artistic and gameplay goals.
While another artist handled the room's structural elements, I believe my detailed approach to the props brought the space to life, adding depth and character to the environment.
